What could be the reason for a sense of heaviness in ones spirit sometimes? There are times it lasts for several hours without really knowing the reason.What is the source of this sensation please and why does it happen? Is it normal for believers to have this experience? Thanks

Abeg help put mouth in this matter. I declared 21days fasting for myself on not getting myself arose in any manner of sense to avoid the usual sin I'm used to committing, in order to get what have been desiring for(speaking in tongues) since. just of recent, I went 4a church program on wednesday where the prayer session was so hot(#fall&die). Then came this feeling of speaking in my spirit which I resisted but before I knew, I started speaking but I stopped willingly but my spirit didn't stop. Also, I did this because I knew not what I was saying(according to Paul in the book of corinthians) and also during this 21days fasting I broke maybe 7 or less but the spirit didn't stop speaking when am praying or reading scriptures. I then prayed to God to help stop it and forget but it haven't stop. Am so confuse, pls help… thank you.

If in the soulish realm, it could be linked to saddening external factors around but since you specifically said "in one's spirit", from my personal experience, I would say the Lord May be calling your attention to something.
Pause.
Listen closely.
Hear Him!

Search your spirit, pray in the Holyghost. As it is written in Prov 20:27 -"The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly." I perceive that heaviness is a perception from your spirit man that something is not right somewhere but you can't place your hand on dt particular tn yet bcs its still eluding your soul (mind), so tune on your frequency &listen.

If after praying in the spirit &searching ur spirit, nothing comes thru, Stand up, Take charge & bind that spirit of heaviness. It's not of the Lord. Stand upon the Word of God in Isa 61:3 & put on your garment of praise. That is your heritage in the Lord.

So practical steps to take are:
-Pray
-Search
-Pray
-Praise

Note:You can also listen to worship & praise songs, it helps. What r u still waiting for? Wear your earplugs & praise away jare.
