The Secret Of Power - Chapter Three

Two weeks left, lagbaja is without a job, little cash and no peace. He went to a pastor who told him to start giving people money that God may use because of that have mercy on him. He did as he was told yet his peace did not come nor money nor job.

"7 days left” lagbaja thought. He remembers how it all started.
“So just one mistake made a long time ago can shorten my life". As he was thinking he remembers how some Christian told him that God forgives sin but he still punished one for it.
Tear dropped from his eyes, so God will let the devil kill me just to punish me.
“Ah, what do I do now" He went to herbalist,
He was told to prepare his dead bed. Everywhere he went to same judgment but different reasons. Some even told him that God set time for him is now and the devil just wants to trick him by saying he will kill him. Meaning he will still die that day not because the devil said so but because God said so. "Hum, what should I do?" Lagbaja thought again.

It’s now three days, lagbaja rolling all over his tear soaked bed when his legs hit a book. He reluctantly pick the book while doing so a note fell and in it was written" For God so loved the world that he sent his only son that who so ever believe in him shall not perish but have ever lasting life." John 3:16. That was the first thing preached to him when he gave his live to Jesus. He knew he was never constant in church but yet experienced God mercy. He left the note and went back to bed. His timetable this day was just bed river side and bed. Eating included too.
Mercy, Mercy Mercy!!! That word was stuck in his brain. He remembers his chat with Ogunjimi about mercy. But all didn’t matter now he thought even God wants me to die.
The night finally came; Esu was there, right on time.
Esu: se o ti dagbere?
(Have you said your goodbyes?)
Lagbaja: ra ra (the thought of saying Goodbye never came to him)
(Not at all)
Esu: Iyen o ti ẹ kan mi. Gbe ori ẹ si le.
(That’s none of my business anyway. Place your head down.)
Lagbaja stood where he is without moving. His mind kept on calling Jesus, Jesus. His thought was that calling Jesus would make it easy, his death. Esu came close to hit him with just his hand, lagbaja shouted Jesus then it happened.
He felt himself been renewed, more like a part of him which he never listens to somehow got control his body instantly. Then he had himself saying this
"I am the son of God, washed clean by the precious blood of Jesus Christ, Lifted up with Jesus to the highest place in heaven where God is sited, and there the earth and all authorities are God foot stool, I dwell in the secret place of the most high, I abide under the shadow of the almighty, I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus”

The devil bowed down instantly and left.
Amazement filled his eyes, before he said anything else. He heard himself talking again,
"Why do you fear beloved, I have not given you the spirit of fear, but of boldness, courage and power, fear not beloved, I am always with you to the very end."

Lagbaja: How is this possible?
Voice: "And you shall receive power when the holy spirit is upon thee, you have been saved, beloved son, you are a new man and as promised the spirit of God lives in you"
Lagbaja: Thanks for saving me, Jesus.
Voice: I am the promise Jesus told you about. The one who will guide, teach and remember you what had been taught John 14:26.
Lagbaja: I have the Holy Spirit in me? What? How?
Voice: It part of your salvation package.
